Tigers Launch 3 HR’s To Defeat Indiana

Posted on:

The North Allegheny Tigers varsity Softball Team played host to the Indiana (PA) High School Indians on Saturday afternoon, and in a contest terminated by the ten-run rule, NA was victorious, 10-0. The Tigers were led by sophomore pitcher Ashley Adams, who went the distance for the shutout, limiting Indiana to four hits, all singles, to earn her first Varsity win.  The Tiger bats were alive as well, pounding out 12 hits including three home runs…one by Rachel Martindale, one by Anna Pilotta, and to complete a winning day, one by Adams. Kristen Chomos tripled and drove in runs number nine and ten to make the early dismissal official and finished the day with 3 RBI’s.

The non-section win raises the Tigers overall record to 8-3, while maintaining their 4-2 Section 3-AAAAAA record, continuing to be tied for second place with Shaler Area and trailing first place Seneca Valley by one game. The Tigers will return to action on Monday evening when they travel to Baldwin to take on the Highlanders.
