Tigers Nab 5th Shutout Of Season, Blank Bethel Park 2-0
The North Allegheny girls’ soccer team won its third straight game and blanked the Bethel Park Black Hawks, 2-0, in non-section play at Newman Stadium on Wednesday night. NA goalies Julia Correa and Maddie Vukas helped the Tigers to their fifth shutout on the season.
Thanks to the play of the NA defense, the Tigers didn’t need much scoring. The game was scoreless at the half before North Allegheny received goals from Alex Adams and Ava Ruppersberger in the second half to secure the win.
North Allegheny improves to 8-2 overall with the win. Bethel Park slides to 1-6-3 on the season. The Lady Tigers will have a stiff road test on Saturday with a visit to Penn-Trafford at 11:30 a.m. The Warriors are in first place in Section 4-AAAA with a mark of 5-0 in the section and 8-2 overall.
