NA Pitching Puts Butler On Ice, 5-0

Posted on:

On a crisp and cold night in Butler, North Allegheny senior Jake Fischbaugh tossed a complete game shutout in a 5-0 Tigers  victory on Friday.  Fischbaugh permitted only three hits to Butler and struck out eight batters in a dazzling performance in the Section 1-AAAA opener. Fischbaugh outdueled Golden Tornado starter Cade Negley who also tossed a complete game but allowed four runs (two earned) on eight hits.

The Tigers gave Fischbaugh all the run support he needed in the second inning when Bobby Brown forced home the game’s first run with a sacrifice fly for a 1-0 lead. Brown brought home two more runners in the top of the fourth inning with a two-run single to improve the NA lead to 3-0. Dan McCauley and Ben Marsico each drove in runs in the seventh to bring the score to its eventual final, 5-0, Tigers.

With the win, North Allegheny jumps to 4-1 overall and 1-0 in Section 1-AAAA. Butler falls to 4-1 overall and 0-1 in section play. Weather permitting, the Tigers are set to host Moon on Monday night at 7:00 pm. The game will be broadcast live via the internet on the North Allegheny Sports Network.
