Tigers Post 4th Consecutive Shutout, Blank Dragons, 6-0

The North Allegheny girls’ soccer team traveled to Pittsburgh’s South Side on Wednesday evening and defeated the Allderdice Dragons, 6-0, in Section 1-AAAA action at Cupples Stadium.

The Tigers jumped put to a 4-0 lead by halftime on goals by sophomore Kylie Dutkovich, senior Anna Bundy, junior Sam Braden and senior Lucia Wells.

NA struck for two quick goals in the second half when junior Ally Ruiz and Wells scored in the first two minutes of the half for a 6-0 lead. From there, the Tigers coasted enroute to the section win.

Goalies Natalie Rak and Maggie Nestor combined for the shutout, with each making two saves in the contest. It’s the ninth shutout of the season for the NA defense and fourth in a row. The Tigers have not allowed a goal in the last 354 minutes of game play.

North Allegheny improves to 16-1 on the season and 12-1 in Section 1-AAAA, while Allderdice falls to 4-10 overall and 3-10. The Tigers have a chance to atone for its only loss of the season on Monday night with a home matchup with the Seneca Valley Raiders at 8:00 p.m. The game will be broadcast live by the North Allegheny Sports Network.
