Tigers Run Away From Titans For Section Win, 11-7

The North Allegheny girls’ lacrosse team won its second consecutive game in Section 2-AAA action with an 11-7 road victory at Shaler on Friday night.

With the game tied 4-4 with 13:12 left in the first half, the Tigers scored five consecutive goals to take command in a stretch that extended nearly six minutes into the second half for a 9-4 lead. Despite a late charge by Shaler that cut the score to 9-7 with 12:30 remaining, the Tigers led the rest of night and put the game away on goals by Maya Evans and Mila Prusak down the stretch. Prusak finished with two goals and an assist.

Along with Prusak’s strong performance, senior Bella Falo netted a team-high four goals and added an assist. Other NA goal scorers included Sofia Mianzo, Allison Lyon, Ava Lindsay and Amelia Henderson. Mianzo and Laurel Donley also notched assists. Sophomore goalie Izzie Trunzo made four saves to earn the victory. Shaler was led by Cami Kwiatkowski, who posted a hat trick.

With the win, North Allegheny improves to 2-2 overall and 2-0 in Section 2-AAA. The Tigers will host North Hills on Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast live by the North Allegheny Sports Network.
