Tigers Sweep Foxes In Section 1-AAA Opener
The North Allegheny boys’ volleyball team won its Section 2-AAA opener on Monday night with a 3-0 road sweep of the Fox Chapel Foxes. The Tigers earned the win by set scores of 25-16, 25-18 and 25-15.
Senior Drew Hunker paced the offensive attack with 12 kills on the night. Senior Jeremiah Zemet notched six kills, while junior Ben Mendes and senior Grant Jones posted four kills each. Helping clog the net area were Zemet and senior Sava Topich with three blocks apiece. Topich dished out 33 assists to facilitate the NA high-powered offense.
Defensively, senior Trevor Treser led with 15 digs. Topich and senior Alex Zubrow tallied two aces each.
Following the win, North Allegheny looks to add another section win to its tally with a home contest against Seneca Valley on Tuesday night. The contest will be broadcast live via the internet on the North Allegheny Sports Network.
