Tigers Sweep Shaler, 3-0
Sophomore Canyon Tuman hammered Shaler with a team-high 14 kills to help the North Allegheny boys’ volleyball team sweep the Titans on Thursday night, 3-0. The Tigers won by set scores of 25-20, 25-19 and 25-11.
Along with Tuman, junior Eric Visgitis peppered the Titans with 11 kills. Setter M.J. Barton posted 29 assists and six digs. Libero Danny Lebovitz notched a team-best 11 digs.
North Allegheny also kept Shaler off balance with its serves and collected 14 aces. Tuman led with three aces, while Barton, Lebovitz, Ryan Beck, Justin Bachinsky and A.J. Schmidt all posted two aces apiece.
North Allegheny jumps to 5-0 overall and in Section 2-AAA. Shaler falls to 2-4 overall and 1-4 in section play. The Tigers will take part in the York Invitational over the weekend.
JV Update: NA won 2-0 (25-15, 25-8).
