Tigers Take Care of Knights In Non-Section Clash

Four different Tigers hit double digits as North Allegheny beat Norwin 63-49 in a non-section matchup at home Saturday evening.

Norwin sophomore standout Adam Bilinsky got the ball rolling for the Knights nailing multiple 3-point shots, as the team took an early 8-0 lead in the first quarter. NA junior Robby Jones provided the response with multiple three pointers himself, and the Tigers held a 14-13 lead at the end of the first quarter.

The Knights kept pace with the Tigers in a low scoring second quarter. Junior Matt McDonough and senior Khalil Dinkins led the way as NA held a 24-21 lead at the half.

The Tigers and Knights continued to battle back and forth in the third quarter, as Norwin senior Jayden Walker awoke offensively scoring all eight of his points in the second half. North Allegheny senior Greg Habib also emerged as a leading scorer, scoring 12 of his 16 points down the stretch.

NA took control in the fourth quarter with the strong play of McDonough, Dinkins, Jones and senior Ethan Lake.

Robby Jones earns Wright Automotive Player of the Game honors with his 16-point performance including 4 shots from beyond the arc. Meanwhile, Habib dropped 16, McDonough had 14 and Dinkins scored 10 points.

With the win, NA improves to 12-3 on the year, while Norwin falls to 5-10.

The Tigers are back in action on Monday night on the road against McKeesport.
