Tigers Top Talbots, 13-2

In their first meeting with the Hampton Talbots since 2016, the North Allegheny boys’ lacrosse team rolled to a 13-2 victory on Saturday morning at Newman Stadium.

In the first period, North Allegheny’s Evan Lyon and Hampton’s Jacob Krempasky traded goals for a 1-1 tie with 5:46 left in the quarter. On a sun-splashed day, the Tigers offense heated up and scored 12 consecutive goals to invoke the mercy rule in the second half en route to a 13-2 triumph.

Freshman Jonathan Castillo and senior Marc Bartolomucci paced the offense with a hat trick each. Castillo was tabbed the Wright Automotive Player of the Game for his outstanding efforts on the day.

Lyon and freshman Nick Sichak tallied two markers each. Adding to the onslaught was sophomore Sam Porter, senior Christian Tedder and sophomore Colman Craft chipped in with one goal each. Craft added four groundballs and two takeaways.

Senior LSM Marco Pascarella had his typical strong day with six ground balls, three takeaways and numerous bone-rattling checks. Senior Sean Boal had a great defensive performance with five ground balls and a pair of takeaways. Senior goalie Beck Taucher earned the win with nine saves on 11 shots on net. Senior Matthew Miller totaled four ground balls and a takeaway.

With the victory, North Allegheny improves to 4-3 overall, while Hampton slips to 6-4 on the season. The Tigers will host Fox Chapel on Monday night. The game will be broadcast live by the North Allegheny Sports Network.
