Tigers Top Talbots, 5-0
Remaining perfect in section play, the North Allegheny girls’ tennis team picked up a 5-0 sweep over the Hampton Talbots on Monday afternoon.
The Tigers dominated their section foe and didn’t lose a point in singles play. Jenny Zhu, Emily Wincko and Claire Zheng each earned 6-0, 6-0, victories in their respective matchups.
In doubles play, Abbey Swirsding and Claire Shao topped Emma Speiss and Mallory Malloy by a 6-2, 6-1 decision. Rounding out the sweep, Rebecca Kolano and Siya Jain defeated Nicole Perrone and Melanie Malloy, 6-0, 6-0.
With the win, North Allegheny improves to 3-3 overall and 3-0 in the section. The Tigers will visit Moon on Tuesday afternoon.
