Tigers Triumph Over Pine-Richland, 77-58

The North Allegheny Boys’ Basketball Team downed the Pine-Richland Rams on Friday night in the Section 3-AAAA opener, 77-58.  Senior guard Joe Mancini lit up the scoreboard for the Tigers with a game-high 29 points, sinking 9 of 16 three-point attempts.  For his efforts, Mancini was named the Wright Automotive Player of the Game.

Also helping North Allegheny to the victory was Cole Constantino who posted 19 points, and Luke Gwaltney who corralled 13 rebounds. The Tigers forced 19 Pine-Richland turnovers and out-rebounded the Rams, 25-18. For Pine-Richland, Ben DiNucci had a big night with 22 points and Andrew Petcash notched 16 points, going 9 of 10 from the free-throw line.

With the win, North Allegheny improves to 4-0 overall and 1-0 in section play. Pine-Richland drops to 2-2 overall and 0-1 within the section.  The Tigers continue section action on Tuesday night with a visit to Shaler.  Tip-off is slated for 7:30 pm.
