Tigers Upended By North Hills, 9-4

North Allegheny and North Hills rekindled their neighborhood rivalry on Thursday night and the Indians defeated the visiting Tigers at Herb Field, 9-4. North Hills trailed 3-0 through three innings but rallied back on the strength of four RBI’s from Garret Barto, including a three-run homer by Barto in the fifth inning.

The Tigers scored three times in the second inning for an early 3-0 lead, including an RBI single by Juliano Capretta and an RBI double by Ryan Dougherty.

North Hills starter David Lane overcame the rocky start to earn the win with 6.1 innings of work.

North Allegheny falls to 10-9 on the season following the non-section loss. North Hills, the Section 1 champions in Class 5A, improve to 17-3 with the win. The Tigers conclude the regular season on Friday afternoon with another non-section contest at Chartiers Valley.
