Roman Rains 3’s on Butler In 56-23 Win

The North Allegheny girls’ basketball team rolled to its 18th consecutive win with a 56-23 triumph at Butler on Thursday night. The Tigers were red hot from beyond the arc, led by senior Courtney Roman who buried six 3-pointers on her way to a 20-point night. In all, the Tigers connected on 12 3-pointers to breeze by the Golden Tornado.

North Allegheny held a 32-13 lead at halftime and outscored Butler 16-1 in the third quarter to ensure the win. Along with Roman, junior Rachel Martindale touched double figures with 11 points and poured in three 3-pointers. Butler did not have a player reach double digits.

With the win, North Allegheny improves to 18-0 overall and 9-0 in Section 1-6A. Butler remains in second place in the section with a 5-4 record and 10-8 mark overall. The Tigers will visit Spring-Ford on Saturday in a non-section contest.
