Tigers Win Clash With Centurions In Battle Of WPIAL Powers
In a battle between the reigning PIAA champions in Class AAA and Class AA, the North Allegheny girls’ golf team prevailed over the Greensburg Central Catholic Centurions, 190-195. NA and GCC have also won four straight WPIAL crowns in their respective classifications and are hoping for a fifth this season.
In a fine team performance, North Allegheny was led by freshman Katie Rose Rankin, who shot a 45. Senior Esha Vaidya carded a 47, while freshman Lauren Kardos and junior Yunshu Li each posted a 49. For Greensburg Central Catholic, Liv Kana and sophomore twins Meghan Zambruno and Ella Zambruno each tallied a 43.
North Allegheny improves to 2-0 on the young season. The Tigers will begin section play tomorrow with a road match against Seneca Valley.
