WPIAL Announces Basketball Playoff Brackets
The WPIAL released its basketball playoff pairings on Monday night and both North Allegheny squads will participate in the postseason beginning next week.
The reigning WPIAL and PIAA champion North Allegheny girls’ basketball team received the No. 2 seed in the Class 6A bracket and will host seventh-seeded Seneca Valley in the quarterfinal round on Wednesday, Feb. 23 at 8:00 p.m. The Tigers swept the Raiders in the regular season by scores of 57-41 at home and 61-56 on the road. Appearing in the playoffs for the fourth consecutive season, the North Allegheny boys’ basketball team received the No. 8 seed and will host ninth-seeded Baldwin on Tuesday, Feb. 22 at 7:00 p.m. The Tigers have not faced the Highlanders since 2018 when Baldwin defeated NA at the Hoops for a Cure Classic, 62-51.
