It was time to set aside our rivalries and cheer for everyone on Saturday as North Allegheny hosted Last Ditch.  Swimmers from across the region came together for one last chance at a WPIAL cut.  24 swimmers made the time, with 16 coming from NA’s own.

With a roaring crowd, the 200 Freestyle saw NA Girls Eva Ogden and Maddie George both make the cut with a 1:58.33 and 2:02.03 respectively.  NA’s Nate Hilbert also got the cut with a 1:50.24.

In the 200IM, Brianna Reinhart came under the wire with a nail biting 2:19.66.

For the 50 Free, the girls had 2 photo finish qualifiers, Shelby Sundgren with a 25.98 and Lorelai Quinet with an on the nose 26 flat.  Tori Tieppo just missed by .1 (can we get a soft touch!) with a 26.1.  The NA boys Emmanuel Chu made it with a solid 22.94.

The 100 Fly saw 3 NA Girls Emma Dietz, Ashley Swartz, and Brianna Reinhart all just miss by tenths.

Back to Freestyle,  the 100 was Tori Tieppo’s redemption making the cut with a 55.90.  Shelby Sundgren with a 56.26 for the girls and Brandon Yatchenko with a 50.19

The grueling 500 Freestyle saw Kieran Yeakel go the distance and qualify with a 5:30.68.

For the 100 Backstroke, both Evey Masztak 1:01.98 and Emma Dietz 1:02.92 got their cuts.

The 100 Breaststroke rounded out the meet with NA Girls Julia Tengowski 1:13.20 and Natalie Reubi1:13.34 making a wpial time. For the boys, Matthew Lindblad swam a 1:04.11 to qualify.
