(2/6/21) The North Allegheny girls’ wrestling team traveled to Central Mountain on Saturday to take part in the Central Mountain Duals. Central Mountain and North Allegheny are two of the nine schools in Pennsylvania to recognize girls wrestling as a varsity sport. This match was the first ever scored high school girls dual meet in the history of PA. The Tiger’s walked away with a close 12-11 win for the first dual meet win in school and state history.

The Wildcats jumped out to an 11-0 lead after a technical fall by Olivia Miller and a fall by Abigail Sneath over junior Taylor Stover. Freshman Leyna Rumpler turned the momentum and put the Tigers on the board with fall over Rhiannon McCracken to bring the team score to 11-6. In the final bout sophomore Hannah Williams came from behind to pick up the fall against Leeah Eisenhower and give the Tigers the 12-11 win.
The NA Girls will be in action again on Saturday as they host the WPIAL Girls Tournament at 9:00 a.m.
