Balanced Scoring Leads NA To Road Win At Shaler
There was no shortage of names that entered the scoring sheet for the North Allegheny girls basketball team on Monday night.
Ten Tigers recorded baskets in NA’s 54-27 Section 1-6A win at Shaler. Senior Rachel Martindale led the charge with a 17 points. It was a hot start for Martindale, who scored 13 points in the first quarter.
North Allegheny never trailed in the game after jumping out to a 8-0, courtesy of a 3-pointer from senior Brooke Barcia and five points from Martindale.
In all, the Tigers made 12 3-pointers on the night. Hitting from beyond the arc were Martindale, Barcia, Brynn Serbin, Paige Morningstar, and Kamaria Carioto. Serbin hit three treys on the night to finish with nine points.
Also scoring in the game for the Tigers was Emma Fischer, Taylor Rawls, Olivia Whitacre, Lizzy Groetsch, and Katerina Balouris.
Emily Cavacini led the Titans with a game-high 18 points.
With the win, North Allegheny improves to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in Section 1-6A. They will return to action on Monday in its home section opener against Seneca Valley at 7:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast online via the NA Sports Network.
