Big 4th Quarter Propels NA To Win Over Parkersburg South, 57-43
A fourth-quarter outburst kept North Allegheny unbeaten and propelled the Tigers to a 57-43 victory over Parkersburg South on Saturday afternoon at NASH. The No. 1-ranked Tigers outscored the Patriots, 20-6, in the fourth quarter to seize the non-section victory.
Senior Madelyn Fischer and junior Rachel Martindale each posted a double-double in the win. Fischer netted 16 points with 12 rebounds, while Martindale tallied 12 points and 10 boards. Freshman Lizzy Groetsch came narrowly close to a double-double as well, contributing nine points and eight rebounds.
For Parkersburg, McKenna Winans paced the Patriots with 13 points. Devin Hefner chipped in with 10 points.
North Allegheny leaps to 4-0 overall following the victory. Parkersburg South dips to 5-2 on the season. The Lady Tigers play in their first section game of the year on Thursday night with a home date with the Shaler Titans at 7:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast live via the internet on the North Allegheny Sports Network.
