Boys Basketball falls to North Hills

North Allegheny traveled to North Hills High School as a part of a girl/boy doubleheader. The Tigers struggled to get their footing early and could never get back into the game as they fell to the Indians 52-40 on Friday night.

North Hills came out of the gate as the aggressors, jumping out to a 14-8 lead after a quarter of play. The Indians kept the pace in the second frame, expanding the lead to double digits, and commanded 27-17 going into the locker room at halftime.

North Hills kept its foot on the gas in the third quarter, so the North Allegheny deficit ballooned to 15 points. The Tigers trailed 41-26 going into the fourth quarter, but continued to fight and dwindled the lead down to nine in the final frame. However, North Allegheny could never get closer than that, ultimately falling 52-40.

Jon Jubeck led North Allegheny with 12 points. Carter Melzer added 11 points while Justin Stalter had 10 points.

North Allegheny dropped to 5-7 overall and 1-5 in section play. North Hills improved to 3-10 and 2-4 in Section 1-6A. The Tigers return home on Tuesday when they take on New Castle at UPMC Court at 8:00 p.m. That will mark the second game of a girl/boy doubleheader and will be broadcast on the North Allegheny Sports Network.
