Boys Soccer bested by Pine-Richland, 2-1
The North Allegheny boys soccer team took the short trip over to Pine-Richland to take on the their section rival. In a tightly contested match, the Rams would score late and NA fell by a score of 2-1.
The Rams got on the board first in the 37th minute when Jordan Crutchfield found Samuel Beuse who scored to give the Rams the 1-0 lead. In the second half, the Tigers had more energy and Nick Denysenko scored an unassisted goal six minutes into the half. Denysenko stole a pass from a Pine-Richland defender in the box and buried the shot to tie the game at 1-1.
With three minutes remaining in regulation, Pine-Richland’s Finn Kichi scored on a free kick from 30 yards out and the Rams hung on for a 2-1 win. Ryan Young made five saves in net for the Tigers
North Allegheny falls to 4-2-1 overall and 1-1 in section play. Pine-Richland improves to 3-3 overall and 1-1 in the section. The Tigers are back in action on Thursday when the travel to Butler High School to take on the Golden Tornado at 7:30 p.m.
