North Allegheny middle blocker Bridgit Murphy signed her national letter of intent to continue her academic and volleyball career at Indiana University of Pennsylvania on Monday afternoon.

Murphy was a huge presence at the net for the Tigers all season long as she was second on the team in blocks and third on the team in kills. In the PIAA championship match, Murphy had a big first set to get the Tigers going and finished the match with eight kills and four blocks.

Murphy was apart of a North Allegheny group that went 83-4 in her four years winning three WPIAL championship and four PIAA titles. The Tigers finished 21-1 this season, winning their eighth straight state championship.

Murphy will join a Crimson Hawk team that is currently 20-8 this season and hosting Clarion in the 2024 PSAC Women’s Volleyball Quarterfinals tonight. IUP has made eight PSAC Tournament appearances, including this season, and won one PSAC Championship in 2002.
