Cross Country opens season in dominant fashion

NA cross country hosted Peters Township at North Park to start off the 2024 dual meet season. Both the girls and boys dominated the Indians, scoring 15-48 and 15-50 respectively.

The girls were led by senior Elizabeth Pizon with a strong time of 20:03 on the 3-mile course. Senior Kendall Lucas was not far behind with a 20:44. Senior Camille Swirsding was third in 20:44. Freshman Lydia Stuart had a great first race placing 4th overall (21:02). Junior Tess Pagnotto was strong in 5th (21:16). Rounding out the scoring seven for the Tigers was sophomore Gabby Pizon in 7th place overall (21:30) and freshman Abby Gordish in 8th (21:33).
The boys were able to capture the top 17 spots in the race. They were led by junior Andrew Peigh with a great time of 16:21. Senior Anthony Miklos was strong in 2nd with a 16:46. Senior Tyler Davis had a great finish in 3rd (16:54). Senior Greg Abel was 4th with a 17:17. Senior Jackson Beemer had a nice race to take 5th (17:30). Rounding out the scoring 7 were seniors Sebastian Klimchak (17:41) and Grey Lowman (17:46).
North Allegheny improves to 1-0 overall on the girls and boys side. The Tigers will be back in action for their first invitational, the Red White and Blue Invitational at White Oak Course, this Saturday at 8:45 a.m.
