Field Hockey battles Peters Township to 2-2 draw

The North Allegheny field hockey team battled to a 2-2 tie with Peters Township in section play on Wednesday night in McMurray.

After a scoreless first quarter, Peters Township opened the scoring with a goal by Ava Zimmer and the Indians led 1-0. The lead was short lived as Isla Abrams scored on an assist from Josie Schomburg and the game was tied again with 10:07 left in the half. The Tigers would get another goal with 6:23 left in the first half when Addison Burns scored to give North Allegheny a 2-1 lead.

In the third quarter, Peters Township’s Anna Kokoszymski tied the game two minutes in. The game remained 2-2 at the end of regulation. Nobody was able to break the tie in overtime, and the game ended in a 2-2 draw.

North Allegheny’s record goes to 1-2-1. The Tigers will be back in action on Monday when they head to Shady Side Academy in non-section action at 6:30 p.m.
