Girls and Boys both split on Day 2 of the Beast of the East Tournament

The North Allegheny water polo teams were split up location-wise for the second day of the Beast of the East tournament with the girls competing at Cumberland Valley while the boys were at Wilson High School. Both the girls and boys teams went 1-1 on the second day of the tournament.

The girls defeated Pennridge in their morning match by a score of 8-6. Bella Spino led the way for NA with five goals and four steals. Mikaela Dassanaike had a goal to go along with two assists and three steals. May Coffman and Tori Tieppo had the other two goals. Katherine Vales made 15 saves in net. In the second match, North Allegheny fell to Wissahickon 10-7. Spino and Tieppo each had three goals for the Tigers. Tieppo also had an assist and three steals. Coffman dished out three assists while Dassanaike had four steals. Vales made five saves.

On the boys side, NA fell to Brunswick in their morning match, 16-7. Tabari Morgan had three goals for North Allegheny. Caden Currykosky had two steals. Grant Regule, Filip Malezanov, Mason Shantz and Callan Bunger were the other goal scorers. Mike Stefanko made four saves. The Tigers would bounce back to beat La Salle 5-4 in their afternoon match. Currykosky scored twice for the Tigers. Regule, Shantz and Bunger also scored. Morgan and Bunger each had two steals. Stefanko made 10 saves.

The NA girls record is now 6-6 overall. The boys are now 10-3. The Tigers have a little break before they head to Cathedral Prep on Tuesday, October 8.
