Girls win Red, White & Blue Invitational; Boys take 2nd

On Saturday, September 7th, the North Allegheny cross country teams travelled to White Oak Park to compete in the Red White & Blue Classic.
The Lady Tigers secured four finishers in the top 20. They were victorious with 88 points with second place coming in at 101 points. They were in second place at all 4 race checkpoints, but were able to surge to the lead in the last half mile. They were led by senior Robin Kucler who took 11th overall (19:28). A strong trio of senior classmates followed not far behind, Elizabeth Pizon was 13th (19:31), Camille Swirsding was 15th (19:33), and Kendall Lucas was 20th (19:47). Junior Teresa Pagnotto anchored the 5th spot with a solid 34th place finish (20:22). Freshman sensation Lydia Stuart was 6th for NA and 40th overall (20:31). Sophomore Gabby Pizon had a good race, placing 50th (20:51) for the Tigers final scorer.
In the boys race, Grove City captured the title, placing 4 runners in the top 15. The North Allegheny boys were only nine points back with a score of 105 points. They were led by senior Jack Bertram who placed 5th overall (15:50). Junior Andrew Peigh was very good in 13th (16:14). Senior Greg Abel had a strong race, grabbing 22nd (16:33). Seniors Anthony Miklos and Tyler Davis were 32nd (16:52) and 41st respectively (17:05) to round out NA’s top 5. Seniors Jackson Beemer and Sebastian Klimchak displaced many runners from other teams, taking 45th (17:09) and 60th (17:23) respectively.
The Tigers will be back in action on Tuesday when they host Mars in their first section contest of the season at North Park at 3:30 p.m.
