By: Jared Barton
North Allegheny ice hockey was back in action to start 2025 off on the road against Bethel Park Thursday night from the Spencer Family YMCA. The Tigers struck first, but the Blackhawks found multiple goals to take the 2-1 win at home.
NA used special teams to get the opening marker of the contest, as senior Tyler Bianchin netted a powerplay goal assisted by junior Alex Costa at the 11:40 mark of the first period.
Bethel tied the game in the early stages of the second frame on a goal from Ezra Kozak, and eventually found the game-winner in the third period courtesy of a powerplay goal from Jack Hartman.
Freshman Chris Costa started in net for the Tigers and ended up with 13 saves. Kevin Teamann earned the win in the opposite net with 15 saves.
The loss drops NA to 6-4 on the season. The Tigers are back in action next Thursday night from the Baierl Ice Complex at 9:10 p.m. That game will be broadcast by the North Allegheny Sports Network.
