Jared Isaacs Reaches WPIAL Singles Quarterfinals
The WPIAL AAA Singles Tournament was conducted at The Club in Monroeville Tuesday afternoon, and NA’s junior, Jared Isaacs, reached the quarterfinals.
In the opening round he defeated junior Rochan Ramesh of Franklin Regional, 10-7. That set the stage for an outstanding quarterfinal match against senior Fernado Escribens of Upper St. Clair. Isaacs jumped off to a 3-0 lead in the set before Escribens scratched and clawed his way back into the match. Both players relied on outstanding cross court, angled shots that kept each other off balance on a consistent basis. In the end, the senior veteran from USC prevailed in a very tight contest.
Congratulations to Jared for his outstanding representation of NA tennis at the WPIAL level! The Tigers Tennis Team returns to action this Thursday against the Allderdice Dragons, at home on the NASH courts at 3:30 PM.
