Kaufman/Zheng bow out in quarterfinals of WPIAL Doubles
After coming in third place at the section doubles tournament, Mia Kaufman and Audrey Zheng competed in the WPIAL Doubles tournament at Bethel Park High School. Kaufman and Zheng would get to the quarterfinals before being eliminated.
Kaufman and Zheng entered the tournament as the No. 10 seed. They would pull off an upset in the first round defeating seventh-seeded Catalina Ramirez and Anna Engelman from Upper St. Clair by a score of 10-6. In the quarterfinals, Kaufman and Zheng gave second-seeded Brooke Henderson and Alexandra Merkel of Shady Side Academy everything they could handle but ultimately fell in the match 10-7.

The loss ends the individual portion of the season for North Allegheny. The Tigers as a team will be back in action on Monday when they start the WPIAL Team Tournament at a site and time to be determined.
