Lady Tigers Cap Perfect Trip Trough Secton With Win At North Hills
For the second time in the last three seasons, the North Allegheny girls basketball team finished with a perfect 12-0 record in Section 3-AAAA play and capped the section schedule last night with a 54-40 win over the North Hills Indians. The Tigers built a 30-19 lead by halftime and held the Indians to just 30 percent shooting in the second half to earn the win.
Senior Taylor Lake had the big night for North Allegheny, scoring a game-high 19 points, hauling six rebounds and collecting three steals. Sophomore Piper Morningstar joined Lake in double figures with 11 points. For North Hills, Jamie Halloran led with a team-best 15 points and seven steals.
North Allegheny improves to 18-3 overall and punctuates the section schedule with a 12-0 record. North Hills drops to 13-7 overall and 8-4 in the section. The Lady Tigers will conclude the regular season on Monday night with a tough tune-up game at Peters Township.
