Lady Tigers Drop A Pair In Section Action
The North Allegheny girls’ lacrosse team dropped a pair of section games this week. On Tuesday night the Lady Tigers fell to the Pine-Richland Rams by a 17-3 decision, and on Thursday night NA was topped by Seneca Valley, 14-3.
Against the Rams, sophomore Sami Mogielski, junior Courtney Heinl and senior Gina Sirianni all netted goals. Maddie Birmingham added a pair of assists. In between the pipes, goalie sophomore Katie Shideler made 10 saves.
The Lady Tigers hung tough against Seneca Valley and trailed only 4-2 at intermission. However, a big second half by the Raiders spoiled North Allegheny’s upset bid, keeping Seneca Valley near the top of the Division 1, Section 2 standings. The NA offense was led by freshman Marissa Lambert who scored two goals. Mogielski chipped in with a goal and Shideler made 14 saves in net.
North Allegheny sits at 0-11 overall and 0-9 in section play. The Tigers continue section action on Monday afternoon against the Fox Chapel Foxes. Faceoff at Newman Stadium is slated for 4:30.
