Lady Tigers Tower Over Titans, 52-30

The North Allegheny girls’ basketball team continued its winning ways with a 61-40 road victory over Shaler in the Section 3-AAAA opener on Thursday night. After a slow start in the opening period, the Lady Tigers outscored the Titans 52-30 in the remaining three quarters en route to their fourth straight win. On the glass, NA outrebounded Shaler, 43-33, with 15 offensive boards.

Sophomore Piper Morningstar paced the Tigers in scoring with a game-high 13 points. Senior Taylor Lake finished with a double-double, collecting 11 points and hauling in 10 rebounds. Sophomore Madelyn Fischer totaled 10 points and eight boards. For Shaler, Gia Thorpe and Rylee Donovan led the way with 11 points apiece.

North Allegheny improves to 4-0 overall and 1-0 in Section 3-AAAA. Shaler slips to 1-2 overall and 0-1 in section play. The Lady Tigers will host the Pine-Richland Rams on Tuesday night which will be broadcast on the MSA Sports Network as the Quad-A Game of the Week. Randy Gore and Rick Meister will have the call.
