Lady Tigers Trample Tribe, 63-37

The Tigers shot 47 percent from the field and four players reached double figures in North Allegheny’s 63-37 victory over the North Hills Indians on Monday night. The win was NA’s seventh in a row while North Hills remains winless in Section 3-AAAA play.

North Allegheny received a terrific all-around performance from junior guard Abby Gonzales in the win.  Gonzales scored a game-high 18 points and added five assists and four steals. Senior Devvin LaBarge carried over her good day against Penn Hills with another strong shooting night, hitting 4 of 6 from beyond the arc for a 12-point outing. Meg Morningstar added 12 points and junior forward Taylor Lake collected a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

For Penn Hills, Melanie Lindsey had a double-double with 17 points and 11 boards.  While Lindsey had her fair share of points, the Tigers held the rest of the Indians in check as NH shot only 29 percent on the night.

North Allegheny vaults to 11-2 overall and 4-1 in Section 3-AAAA.  North Hills drops to 4-8 overall and 0-6 in section play. The Tigers will visit Shaler on Thursday night in a major section clash.  The game will be broadcast live as the Quad-A Girls Basketball Game of the Week courtesy of quadasports.com
