Lady Tigers Trounce Titans, 4-0

Posted on:

Junior Sarah Schupansky netted a pair of goals to help North Allegheny to a 4-0 win at Shaler on Friday night in Section 1-AAAA action. The Tigers dominated the time of possession, outshooting the Titans 25-1 on the night. NA also led on corner kicks by an 11-0 margin. It was the third straight win for North Allegheny to start the 2019 season.

It was a one-sided contest from the very start as North Allegheny wasted little time scoring the game’s first goal. In the 1st minute, the Tigers turned a corner kick into a quick goal when Ava Ruppersberger sent a pass to Schupansky who dribbled in and scored for an immediate 1-0 lead.

Ruppersberger scored on a shot from 20 yards out in the 15th minute for a 2-0 advantage and Emma Bundy scored on a header just three minutes later to give NA a 3-0 lead going into halftime. The Bundy goal was set up courtesy of an excellent pass from Riley Miara.

In the second half, Schupansky put the finishing touches on the win with a left-footed shot that beat the Shaler keeper for her second goal of the night in the 42nd minute to close out a 4-0 victory.

With the win, North Allegheny improves to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in Section 1-AAAA. Shaler falls to 0-2 overall and 0-1 in the section. The Tigers will visit Penn-Trafford in a tough non-section game on Monday at 7:30 p.m.
