Long layoff doesn’t effect Tigers in 5-0 win

Posted on:

It had been seven days since the North Allegheny girls tennis team had played in a team match. There was no rust though from the Tigers as they rolled to a 5-0 win over North Hills at North Allegheny High School on Monday afternoon.

Mia Kaufman won her No. 1 singles match over Adelaide Seigworth by a score of 6-1, 6-1. Audrey Zheng was the winner of No. 2 singles defeating Hannah Kreigline 6-0, 6-1. Kaitlyn Zeman made quick work of Julia Nease by a score of 6-0, 6-0.

It was complete domination from the doubles teams as neither team dropped a game winning by scores of 6-0, 6-0. Cynthia Li and Alexa Richey beat Alaina Weaver and Laura Clement in No. 1 doubles while Remi Hayward and Kelly Tai took care of business in No. 2 doubles.

North Allegheny improves to 10-3 overall and 7-0 in section play. North Hills falls to 6-8 overall and 3-5 in the section. The Tigers will be right back in action tomorrow with a non-section match against North Catholic at 3:30 p.m. The match will be played at the North Allegheny tennis courts.
