Luke Trueman Signs Pro Contract, Named PSAC West Athlete of the Year
Former North Allegheny baseball standout Luke Trueman is set to sign a professional baseball contract with the Billings Mustangs in the independent Pioneer League. The Pioneer League is not affiliated with Major League Baseball but is an MLB Partner League.
Trueman’s signing with Billings comes just a week after being named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division Athlete of the Year, capping a stellar career at Slippery Rock University. Trueman, a senior pitcher and infielder at SRU, also earned first team honors at the utility spot.
Trueman becomes the seventh Slippery Rock student-athlete to earn PSAC West Athlete of the Year recognition.

Offensively, Trueman led the PSAC West in home runs, doubles and slugging percentage in addition to ranking second in batting average and sixth in total hits (56). As a pitcher, Trueman paced the division in victories and innings pitched while ranking second in strikeouts and third in opponent batting average.
Trueman ranks third in Slippery Rock career history in strikeouts (211), third in innings pitched (217.2), eighth in wins (17), ninth in home runs (24) and 11th in doubles (42).
