McConneha competes at PIAA Individual Championships

North Allegheny junior Bradyn McConneha finished his wrestling season over the weekend competing at the PIAA Individual Championships at the Giant Center in Hershey, PA.

McConneha opened the tournament with a preliminary round win over Oxford Area’s Jace McKinney, who he pinned in 4:47. McConneha advanced to the first round where he fell to Mawell Roy of St. Joseph’s Prep. Bradyn would bounce back in the consolation bracket defeating Jeff Gessner from Council Rock South by an 8-5 decision. McConneha’s season would come to an end when he dropped a bout to Philup Rearick of Armstrong in the third consolation round.

McConneha finishes the season with a 38-13 record, a runner-up finish at sections and fourth-place finishes at both the WPIAL and West Regional tournaments.

That concludes the season for North Allegheny boys wrestling who finished with a 15-3 dual record including 4-0 in section. A Section 4-3A title and a WPIAL Quarterfinals appearance as a team. Congrats to head coach Jamie Kyriazis, all staff and wrestlers on a great season!
