NA Blows Away Competition At Canon-McMillan Invitational
The North Allegheny boys’ soccer team opened the 2021 season with a pair of victories at the Canon-McMillan Invitational on Saturday.
In game one of the twin bill, the Tigers attack sprung to life in a morning time blowout of Southmoreland, 16-0. NA called of the dogs in the second half, but the Scotties were helpless to stop the Tigers in the first half. Evan Anderson, Alok Shah, Jacopo DiPrato, Brendan Angermeier, Ethan Tao and Arnav Patel each scored a pair of goals in the victory. Connor Kaczmarek, Matt Mihm, Tor Skogsholm and Ben Christian also chipped in with goals.
The night cap was a bit more competitive, but not by much, as NA leveled Latrobe, 6-0. Christian and Anderson netted a pair of goals each, while Angermeier and Shah also tallied markers.
North Allegheny sits at 2-0 overall and will have a much stiffer test on Thursday with a visit to Pine-Richland to open Section 1-AAAA play.
