NA Boys Wrestling loses heartbreaker to Canon-McMillan, 33-30
North Allegheny hosted the Canon-McMillan Big Macs in a non-section battle on Tuesday night at North Allegheny Intermediate High School. The match came down to the final bout but the Big Macs came away with the win by decision 33-30.
Starting at 172, Canon-McMillan won the first three matches to jump out to an 11-0 lead. North Allegheny made a run getting pins from Bradyn McConneha and Joseph Synan and two forfeits to take a 24-11 lead. In a match of runs, the Big Macs took the next four bouts to lead 30-24. Needing a pin to keep the match alive for the Tigers, Griffen Reid did just that to tie the score 30-30. Canon-McMillan won the final match by decision.
North Allegheny falls to 9-2 overall, while Canon-McMillan improves to 2-1. The Tigers’ turnaround is quick, as they will be right back in action tomorrow night at 7:00 p.m. when they open section play against Mars at UPMC Court. This match will be broadcast live on the North Allegheny Sports Network.
