NA Crushes Sewickley Academy, 5-0
The North Allegheny girls’ tennis team continued its dominance on Friday afternoon with a 5-0 non-section win over Sewickley Academy. NA singles players Anna Li and Tina Li rolled through their opponents with straight set wins of 6-0,6-0. At #3 singles, freshman Ashley Huang took down Caroline Becker, 6-0, 6-2.
In doubles play, Eugenia Lee and Tristyn Maalouf teamed up for a 6-0, 6-1, triumph over Cara Dietrich and Alina Matson. The Tigers also received a strong performance from Elena Kolano and Jenna Kolano with a 6-1, 6-0, win over Isabel Billar and Morgan Recker.
The Lady Tigers leap to 8-1 overall with the win and will return to section play on Wednesday at Pine-Richland. Beforehand, NA will send Anna and Tina Li to the WPIAL singles tournament beginning on Monday at Shady Side Academy High School.
