NA Decks Hampton, 13-9
Seven different Tigers scored goals as North Allegheny hammered Hampton on Wednesday night, 13-9, for a Division 1, Section 2 win. Junior Kyle Rullan made his return with a hat trick, and senior Alec McGovern posted four goals to help lead NA to victory.
The Tigers leaped to a 4-0 first quarter lead and never allowed Hampton to come within striking distance. North Allegheny held a 13-6 advantage early in the fourth quarter before by the Talbots scored three meaningless goals in the final two minutes of the game.
Along with the big nights from Rullan and McGovern, seniors Stephen Kelleher and Nick Koebley notched two goals apiece. Other Tiger goal scorers included Nathaniel Sprunk, Ted Egnaczyk and Zach Smith.
John Abbondanza earned the win in net with seven saves. Defensively, freshman phenom Greg Ferringer tallied a team-high three forced errors.
North Allegheny improves to 8-5 overall and 4-1 in section play. Hampton slips to 6-7 overall and 2-4 in the section. The Tigers visit Bethel Park in a non-section game on Friday night with start time set for 7:00 pm.
