
NA defeats Pine-Richland in One-Hole Playoff
Nine holes wasn’t enough for North Allegheny and Pine-Richland as both teams were tied 194-194 after regulation. The one-hole playoff featured Kayli Dings and Omisa Shah for the Tigers against Sienna Smith and Sydney Fluhrer for the Rams. Teeing off at 8:15 p.m., Dings chipped in for eagle while Shah bogeyed the hole. Smith par’d and Fluhrer bogeyed which gave NA the two stroke win.
Playing the back nine at Diamond Run (par 37) Dings led North Allegheny with a 37. Kirsten Karlovits shot a 50 while Shah carded a 52. Grace Means and Ava Azzanni shot a 55 and 62 respectively.
Pine-Richland was led by Smith who shot a 42.
The win gives the Tigers sole possession of first place in the section as they improve to 7-1 overall and 6-0 in the section. Pine-Richland falls to 5-1 overall and in the section. North Allegheny will return to action next Wednesday when they host Mars at 3:30 p.m. at Diamond Run Golf Course.
