NA dominant in win over Moon
North Allegheny traveled to Moon to open section play in a battle between the Tigers. NA got off to a great start in section play, sweeping Moon 5-0.
Mia Kaufman defated Kiera Wise in No. 1 singles by scores of 6-2, 7-5. Audrey Zheng performed well in No. 2 singles taking down Evelyn Wise by scores of 6-2, 6-0. Kaitlyn Zeman didn’t allow a point in her match as she shut out Nithia Kaarthi in No. 3 singles 6-0, 6-0.
It was more of the same in doubles as Cynthia Li and Alexa Richey defeated Sajal Shetty and Brooke Altmeyer 6-2, 6-3 in No. 1 doubles. Remi Hayward and Ella Mangene also picked up a shutout blanking Cailyn Frye and Ella Stephenson 6-0, 6-0 in No. 2 doubles.
North Allegheny improves to 2-2 overall and 1-0 in section play. Moon falls to 1-2 overall and 0-2 in the section. NA will be back in action tomorrow when they host Upper St. Clair in a non-section matchup at 2:00 p.m. at Lakevue Athletic Club.
