NA drops section contest to Pine-Richland, 39-33

North Allegheny traveled to Pine-Richland High School on take on the Rams on Monday night. In a low-scoring affair, the Tigers fell in the Section 1-6A matchup by a score of 39-33.

NA got off to a good start jumping out to an 11-3 lead and led 11-5 after a quarter of play. Pine-Richland would flip the script in the second quarter outscoring North Allegheny 17-8 and the Rams had the 22-19 lead going into halftime.

In the third quarter, the Tigers made the proper adjustments defensively and held the Rams to five points in the quarter, regaining the lead 29-27 going into the final frame. Just like the second quarter, Pine-Richland would respond again outscoring NA 12-4 in the final eight minutes and the Tigers fell 39-33.

Vange Balouris and Natalie Kinross each had eight points for the Tigers. Rosalia Varlotta and Leah Skweres added six.

North Allegheny falls to 6-10 overall and 3-4 in section play. Pine-Richland improves to 5-12 overall and 5-2 in the section. The Tigers return to action on Friday when they host Woodland Hills at 6:30 p.m. at UPMC Court. This game will be broadcast on the North Allegheny Sports Network.
