NA edged by Woodland Hills, 43-39
North Allegheny traveled to Woodland Hills to take part in a girl/boy doubleheader on Tuesday night. The Tigers were caught in a defensive struggle and just couldn’t get shots to fall late as they fell to the Wolverines by a score of 43-39 in section play.
The first quarter had decent pace but Woodland Hills jumped out to a 13-8 lead at the end of the frame. Quarter number two was a defensive slugfest as neither team was able to get to double figures in the quarter and North Allegheny trailed 19-15 heading into halftime.
The Tigers would make their push in the third quarter outscoring the Wolverines 13-9 in the frame to tie the score 28-28 going into the fourth quarter. Things were back and forth in the final stanza but North Allegheny ultimately fell to Woodland Hills by a score of 43-39.
Jon Jubeck hit three three-pointers and finished with 11 points. Carter Melzer also finished with 11 points.
North Allegheny falls to 5-6 overall and 1-4 in section play. Woodland Hills improves to 5-6 overall and 1-4 in the section. The Tigers will be back in action on Friday at North Hills to take on the Indians at 7:30 p.m. This will be apart of a girl/boy doubleheader.
