NA Edges Butler For Section Win, 210-211
For the third time in the young season, a North Allegheny boys’ golf match was decided by one stroke. On a sunny Tuesday afternoon in Butler, the Tigers defeated the host Tornado by a 210-211 decision.
North Allegheny was led by senior Adam Steinmetz, who carded a 38. Seniors Peter Canovali and J.J. Dopkosky chipped in with a 41 and 42, respectively. Freshman Collin Wang shot a 44, followed by senior Mike DeLucia who rounded out the scoring with a 45. Butler’s top golfers were Collin Patterson and Wyatt Kos, each shooting a 41.
With the win, North Allegheny improves to 2-2 overall and 2-1 in section play. The Tigers will try to make it three wins in a row on Thursday afternoon for a home date with North Hills.
