NA Falls To LaSalle College, 73-58
The North Allegheny boys’ basketball team fell to the LaSalle College Explorers on Saturday afternoon, 73-58, at the State College Tip-Off Tournament. Senior post player Isaac Barnes netted a team-best 21 points for the Tigers and was named to the All-Tournament Team. Junior Curtis Aiken added 15 points.
The Tigers held their own in the early going and led 16-15 after one quarter of play. LaSalle bounced back to take the lead by halftime, 40-32, and grabbed control of the game by outscoring NA, 20-7, in the third quarter. The Explorers navigated their way toward victory thanks to a 25-point performance from Matt Paulus who knocked down 6 of 8 shots from beyond the arc. LaSalle received 13 points from Konrad Kiszka and 11 points courtesy of Matt McMahon.
North Allegheny sits at 0-2 following the loss to La Salle. The Tigers look to bounce back on Tuesday night with a visit to Mt. Lebanon at 7:30 p.m.
