NA Field Hockey Levels Latrobe, 6-0

Senior Olivia Scherrer notched a hat trick and junior Angie Genter tallied two assists as North Allegheny leveled the Latrobe Wildcats on Tuesday night, 6-0, in a Section 1-AAA contest. Scherrer started the scoring with two first-half goals, followed by goals courtesy of sophomore Hailey Wachowiak and junior Sam Marion for a 4-0 lead at the half.

In the second half, the Tigers switched their defensive players to the front line and moved the offensive players to the back line. Throughout the game, the field was controlled by North Allegheny and Latrobe was continually pressure by midfielders Laura Schwendeman and Bridget Russell.

With the Wildcats held at bay, the Tigers added on to the lead with another goal by Scherrer, and an additional marker by Kayley Cooper on an assist by Tristan Laughrey to bring the final score to 6-0, Tigers.

North Allegheny improves to 4-0 overall on the season and 2-0 in Section 1-AAA. The Lady Tigers host Norwin on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in game that will be broadcast live via the internet on the North Allegheny Sports Network.
