NA Gymnasts Take 4th At WPIAL Championship
The North Allegheny gymnastics team earned a fourth-place finish at the WPIAL championships on Friday night. The Tigers earned a team score of 142.718.
The Thomas Jefferson Jaguars won the WPIAL title, dethroning Moon who was hoping for its second three-peat in the last eight years. TJ posted a team score of 146.375 for its first WPIAL crown in program history.
Moon finished with a team score of 144.883 for second place and Pine-Richland took third with a team score of 144.265.
Individually for the NA Tigers, freshman Reyna Garvey led the team in the vault (9.825), bars (9.63), beam (9.75) and floor (9.375) events.
Adding to the impressive NA effort was sophomore Jenna McConnell with solid scores in the vault (9.25), beam (8.7) and floor (9.25) competitions.
Junior Kelsey O’Neill posted strong scores in the vault (9.25), bars (9.26) and floor (9.175) events. For a full look at the NA individual scoring, click here.
