NA Knocks Off Shaler, 199-225
The North Allegheny Boys’ Golf Team jumped back into the win column on Thursday afternoon with a 199-225 triumph over Shaler at Diamond Run.
Senior Martin Lazzaro shot par and junior Noah Wessel shot a 4-over at the Par 35 course to lead the Tigers to victory. Senior Josh Huhn finished with 40 strokes and Kyle Dewey shot a 42. Sophomore Ryan Dougherty followed closely with a 43 and Nick Longo rounded out the scoring with a 52. Shaler’s Tanner Grzegorczk was the top golfer for the Titans with a team-best 40.
North Allegheny improves 6-4-1 overall and 5-2 in section play with the win. The Tigers will compete in the Fox Chapel Invitational this afternoon. Monday is the section qualifier at North Park. Ryan Dougherty, Martin Lazzaro, Josh Huhn, David Mrazik, Kyle Dewey and Noah Wessel will be representing NA. The target score is 80 or lower.
